Parks Referendum Project
FROM I-95 Exit-173 take SR-514-Malabar
Road west 6 miles and turn right into the park road.
Open after 7:00 a.m. until dark,
except for scheduled use.
This 200-acre regional park is home to
the Palm Bay Soccer Club, and Brevard Caribbean American
Sports and Cultural Association. Four lakes attract fishermen,
and rustic group camping is available by permit for organized
youth groups. Facilities include athletic fields, basketball
and volleyball courts, restrooms, picnic area, playground,
pavilion with 3 grills, bicycle/walking trail and fishing
deck. Completed Parks Referendum Project improvements include
softball and baseball fields, restroom / concession / meeting
room buildings, a dog park and restroom, youth camping area, additional
lakes, 2 playgrounds,
benches, and pavilion. Construction of the 18,000 sq. ft. community center / gymnasium, and a pavilion with restroom / concession / dressing
room (Cricket facility) will commence in early 2008. For project update click on the Referendum

FROM the Pineda Causeway (SR-404),
go 0.3 miles north on US Hwy 1, the park is on the right.
Boat ramps open 24 hours a
day.
This 4.58-acre community river park (formerly known as Pineda Landing)
is on the shoreline of the Indian River just north of the
Pineda Causeway. It features a boat ramp, a non-motorized
boat launch area, shoreline fishing and the POW/MIA Community
Center (a small community building with meeting room).
Parking accommodates 32 paved
car, 36 grass boat trailer spaces. For

This 6.34-acre quiet neighborhood park
is partially shaded with open areas, it features an unguarded
swimming lake, pavilions with grills, playground and benches.

FROM the Pineda Causeway (SR-404), go north 1.8 miles. The park is on the right
at the Suntree Boulevard intersection.
Open after 7:00 a.m. until dark,
except for scheduled use.
At the junction of U.S. Hwy 1 and Suntree
Boulevard, this 10.36-acre community river park is situated
on the shore of the Indian River Lagoon. The large pavilion
includes restrooms, barbeque pits, and an expansive river
view. Along the shore and boardwalk are 6 picnic shelters
with grills and a nearby playground. The fishing pier invites
leisurely strolls and fishing.
WATCHABLE WILDLIFE: Listed
in State of Florida Great Florida Birding Trail—Waders,
Shorebirds; Migratory Ducks, Loon, Grebe (winter)

Park

Turn right and go south 0.7 miles.
Open after 7:00 a.m. until dark, except for scheduled use.
Historic Interest
This small .83-acre neighborhood beach
park offers a dune crossover for beachgoers and surf fishing.
It features a small parking
area, outdoor shower and a Memorial to the Challenger
Mission.
Officially named S.P.R.A. Park, the letters abbreviate “South
Patrick Residents Association”.
