Unless designated otherwise, Brevard County Parks open after 7:00 a.m. and close at dark.

Parks with Community Centers and Athletic Facilities are open after dark for scheduled activities. Operating hours for Community Centers and Nature Centers may be obtained by contacting the specific facility.

Boat Ramps are open 24 hours a day.

Osteen Park

425 S Tropical Trail, Merritt Island
FROM US Hwy 1, go east 1.7 miles on SR-520, turn right on South Tropical Trail and go 0.5 miles. The park is on the right.

Open after 7:00 a.m. until dark, except for scheduled use.

This wooded 3.8-acre community river park in a neighborhood environment features a paved walkway leading to a sheltered fishing pier featuring a beautiful view of the Indian River. A small pavilion with 2 grills, picnic tables with 6 grills, restrooms, benches, a shaded playground and an open grassy area make this park ideal for impromptu family picnics.

Pineview Park

200 Melbourne Avenue, Merritt Island
Parks Referendum Project
FROM SR-520 go north 1 mile on Courtenay Parkway (SR-3), turn left and go 0.1 mile on Barony Boulevard, turn right and go 0.1 mile on Australian Street, when it becomes Melbourne Avenue go 0.2 miles.

Open after 7:00 a.m. until dark, except for scheduled use.

In the Colony Park subdivision west of Courtenay Parkway, this wooded 4.74-acre neighborhood park offers a shaded spot for group gatherings and active play. Facilities include a small pavilion with 2 grills, picnic tables and 2 grills, playground, game area, basketball court, drinking fountain, and benches.

Robert P. Murkshe Memorial Park

1600 Atlantic Avenue S, Cocoa Beach
FROM SR-520, go 1.2 miles south on SR-A1A and turn left onto 16th Street.

Open after 7:00 a.m. until dark.

On the beach at 16th Street South, this 2.5-acre community beach park is a local favorite. It offers access to the ocean for surf fishing and beach activities, and features a small parking area, paved walkway from restrooms to dune crossover, outdoor shower, and picnic shelter in a landscaped setting.

Rotary Park-Merritt Island

1899 S Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island

FROM SR-520 go south 2.4 miles on S Courtenay Parkway. The park entrance is on the right.
FROM the Pineda Causeway (SR-404), go north on South Tropical Trail/Courtenay Parkway 8.9 miles. The park is on the left.

Open after 7:00 a.m. until dark, except for scheduled use.

The wooded drive into this 37.77-acre community park leads visitors to a full-featured playground. Nearby, an interpretive nature boardwalk invites walks and a Nature Center offers exhibits, tours and classes. To schedule a tour or arrange a visit to the Nature Center, call 321-455-1385. The event pavilion with 4 grills is adjacent to restrooms with a paved walkway leading to the playground and benches. Three picnic shelters, grills, picnic tables, and a grass volleyball court invite leisure activity. The west side of the park features athletic facilities scheduled for renovation and construction in 2005 through the Referedum Project. Facilities will include a multiuse field, paved pedway, and a pavilion with serving area and restrooms. For project information, click on the Parks Referendum link above.

Stevenson Elementary School

Parks Referendum Project
FROM SR-520 go north 2.8 miles on North Banana River Drive, turn left on Martin Blvd and go 0.2 miles.

Open after school hours and weekends until dark, except for scheduled use.

Athletic facilities at this site recently constructed and expanded through the Parks Referendum include multiuse fields with a pedway around the perimeter and trail leading to Kelly Park-West, and a pavilion with serving area and restrooms
