Facility Use

Park Facilities

Several types of facilities in Brevard County parks are available to the public for scheduling family outings, group and community events, or tournaments. The Parks by Features pages identify primary facilities such as community centers, pavilions, and sport facilities, while each park narrative on the Parks by Area pages lists additional amenities such as barbeque grills, or unique features such as the amphitheater at Wickham Park. Further detail about specific facilities can be obtained by contacting the Area Parks Operation offices

Event Planning

Planning an event? Birthday parties, organization banquets, fundraisers, and family reunions are just a few of the activities that fit perfect in a park setting.

To insure the most successful event and enjoyment for participants and other park patrons, Department staff members are prepared to assist group organizers with tips and a checklist of pertinent details.

Be sure to call the appropriate Area Office as far in advance as possible to schedule your date. Phone numbers are on the Parks by Area pages, on the Contact page, or call 321-63-PKREC.

Use Permits & Security Personnel

Facility use and reservations are on a first come, first served basis.

A reservation that includes an authorized Application For Use Permit is recommended to ensure availability of facilities, especially for larger pavilions, and is necessary for groups of fifty (50) or more.

Permits and applicable rental fees are necessary for meeting rooms, as well as for certain athletic fields and several other types of facilities.

If a proposed event involves commercial activity and is open to the public and expected to draw fifty (50) or more people, the rental applicant must contract certified security personnel .

For information about availability of a facility or to request a date contact the Parks Operations office associated with the facility you would like to reserve. Phone numbers are on the Parks by Area pages, on the Contact page, or call 321-63-PKREC.

IMPORTANT Submission of a "Request for Facility Use Permit" constitutes only a request for a reservation permit. A reservation is not complete until any fees and the completed form with applicant signature are received, and authorized and signed by the appropriate Department staff. During use of the reserved facility by the applicant, the applicant must be in possession of the authorized permit.

Reservation & Rental Fees

Although a user fee is applicable to reserve some facilities, many picnic areas, pavilions, designated ballfields, and some courts are available on a first come, first served basis without a rental permit or fee. Many parks have picnic areas and sheltered single picnic tables that are ideal for casual drop-in picnics.

Assistance in determining the applicable fees for a facility can be easily obtained by calling the appropriate office.
