The North Area Persons with Disabilities Program offers a variety of social activities to mentally and physically challenged individuals. Regular activities provide socialization and offer opportunities for new friendships. To receive a monthly calendar or for more information call 321-264-5058 or 321-264-5105.

Programs for the Persons with Disabilities in Central Brevard are as varied as the participants. During the week the program travels to the locations of participants: care centers, schools, nursing homes. At least one evening per week an activity is held at a Community Center or Nature Center. Kiwanis Island Park Community Center

Participants walk, ride bikes, roll wheelchairs, strollers, etc. to raise funds for Special Olympics. With a minimum $15 in pledges, participant receives lunch and a t-shirt.

Fall Festival Sock Hop

Music from the 50’s and 60’s. Several contests: Twist, hula hoop, Elvis impersonator. Refreshments. Transportation available from the North and South to Kiwanis Island.

31st Annual Holiday Hoedown

The South Area Persons with Disabilities Recreation Program offers a wide variety of activities for developmentally and physically challenged individuals. Activities offer opportunities to socialize, practice new skills, participate in field trips, learn life skills, establish new friendships and serve the community. Throughout the year, the program offers weekly Friday dances, monthly field trips, movie nights, and Special Olympic practices. Each month a calendar of events is distributed to participants through either their day program or at Friday Night Dances. Call 321-255-4436 for more information.

Junior Golf Program

A Youth Golf Association $10 Annual Membership fee entitles members to age-group competition, special newletters and specially reduced Greens fees ($5 Winter, some restrictions apply). All memberships expire December 31. Private lessons are available. Call the Pro Shop for further information about membership or lessons.
